The instability of cutting slope in expansive soils is one kind of geological disaster which is very widespread and complex in engineering field. Aim at the landslide and creep of cutting slope in expansive soils, first of all, the expensive soil property is analyzed under water content and stress influence. The deformation and shear strength parameters of expensive soil are studied from two kinds of experiment that is expansive deformation experiment and shear strength experiment. With a view to the characteristics of the research, a lot of mathematical regression models are taken into account and comparative analysis is done to make sure the conclusion can be appropriate for advanced analysis when the experiment data regression is analyzed.According to the rules of expensive soil property, a program is designed through secondary development for finite difference software to fulfill the regulations of the expensive soil parameters, moreover, the laboratory test are simulated in numerical method and the reliability of the program is verified. The regression equations derived from original experiment data are modified according to the result of the numerical simulation; therefore, the effects of the numerical simulation get improved. Based on them, the stability of cutting slope in expansive soils is simulated with the aid of the humidity field theory. some situation are taken into account during the simulation, which include two numerical models that are expansive soil cutting slope without weak surfaces and cutting slope composed of expansive soil and rock with weak surfaces, two stages that are excavating and hygroscopic expansion and several types of moisture distribution in slope. Consequently, further mechanism of deformation and failure is enhanced. Many facts influence the stability of expansive soil cutting slope and take different effect at different stage, such as geologic feature, climate and anthropogenic factor. The failure types of expansive soil cutting slope without weak surfaces are mainly in surface plane slide pattern, but failure modes of cutting slope composed of expansive soil and rock with weak surfaces are mainly soils slipping out along the interface between expensive soil and rock. From those analyses, some conclusions related to stability come into being under different models and states. It...
