In order to solve our country north and south side of uneven distribution of water resources, the waters of the south north water shortage, imbalance, our construction of the South-to-North Water Diversion Project. The South-to-North Water Diversion Project is not only able to alleviate the situation of shortage of water resources in the north, but also to promote the coordinated development of economy and environment resources function.Security and stability is a prerequisite for the South-to-North Diversion Project to realize the important significance, to play its important role, and ensure the stability of each channel is the first condition of stable safety throughout the South-to-North Water Diversion project. Based on the above purpose, the South-to-North Diversion Project in Hebei Province section of the canal slope stability analysis, the canal is special, it has expansive soil foundation so that many engineers are difficult. Expansive soil is a kind of obvious swelling softening and water loss shrinkage cracking two kinds of deformation characteristics of clay soil, is a kind of high plastic clay and repeated expansion and contraction deformation of large. Because of this water volume expansion of expansive soil, special engineering properties of dehydration shrinkage, so for South to North Water Diversion Project in the canal section of the canal slope stability analysis is more important.After the South to North Water Diversion Project in Hebei Province Handan expansive soil slope stability analysis, the theory is more perfect, the wider use of GeoStudio software, containing SLOPE/W,SEEP/W,QUAKE/W,TEMP/W,VADOSE/W, TEMP/W,CTRAN/W,AIR/W eight module of GeoStudio software, GeoStudio software design and application many international famous expert theory, including Morgenstern, N.R, Price, V.E, Duncan, J.M etc. SLOPE/W is one of the most important GeoStudio software, software analysis and calculation of slope stability is professional, it is based on the theory of limit equilibrium, built-in multiple sliding surface search method, can the failure probability calculation and parameter sensitivity analysis of slope was effectively.The analysis process is composed of three parts, namely in the natural state, the slope is water and the hundred years rainfall test cases and channel water to the slope, the safety factor of stability calculation and analysis of expansive soil slope, slope stability. The main results of the analysis are follows:First, in the state of nature, combined with laboratory test data on expansive soil slope stability analysis, the safety coefficient is larger, it was concluded that the slope is stable;Second, in the slope under the condition of no water, for hundred years rainfall on the slope, and measured data of expansive soil slope stability analysis combined with field test, the safety factor is the smallest of the three, but at this time of expansive soil slope is still in steady state.Third, analog channel water situation, in different water depth of expansive soil slope stability analysis, the safety factor is large, it was concluded that the expansive soil slope is in stable state.Fourth, channel water, water after landing, analysis of the slope stability of expansive soil, the safety coefficient is larger, the conclusion is expansive soil slope is in stable state.
