The reinforced concrete arch bridge is one of the prodominent type of bridge in our country. Because of various factors such as overload, design, construction and maintenance, there is much various deficiencies and damages in existing reinforced concrete arch bridges. It's necessary to strengthen the existing reinforced concrete arch bridge.Rehabilitation of bridges with carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP) has become one of the hot-spot recently. And many scholars have carried out correlated theoretical and experimental research. They have made a great progress, but still stayed on the practical exploration, not fit for the spread of the practical application. And many of them is aimed at the beam bridges. So it is necessary to offer a calculation method, which is fit for the reinforcement project of the arch bridges with CFRP, and can guide the engineering practice. Therefore, it is necessary to do related subject studies.As a main part of compiling the rehabilitation specification of old highway bridge, this paper on the basis of the current research, according to the mechanical theory of structural internal force redistribution after the cracking of reinforced concrete arch, presents the methodology of calculation about reinforced concrete arch bridge with CFRP. This method establishes balanced equation of internal force according to the relative constitutive relation of steel reinforcement, concrete and CFRP, uses layered method to do iterative computation. The relevant cross-sectional analysis procedure has been compiled in this paper. Through the cross-sectional nonlinear numerical analysis for the reinforced concrete arch models(both before and after reinforced), the paper gives the reduced factor of flexural rigidity and extensional rigidity under the different load gradation, and compares analysis about the strain of key section and the deflection of the span centre with the experiment...
