Based on domestic and foreign relevant specifications, documents and experimental results, through statistic analyzing to the connecting methods of the steel pylon and foundation, the connecting mechanical properties is summarized, also the connecting explicabilities are compared and analyzed.On the ground of many years design theoretic and practical projects experience of the foreign cable-supported bridge, according to some current applied criterions, the essay detailed discussed the three widely-applied connecting methods -submerged connecting , high-strength bolts connecting and steel strands connecting-between the steel pylon and foundation on foreign suspension bridge and the cable-stayed bridge, from the aspects of stress & strength transmitting mechanism, calculation theory, and general constitution (including selection, disposal/arrangement and calculation of detailed members). Also the application principle of these three connecting methods was explicitly analyzed.With the FEM theory as the groundwork, applying the ANSYS numerical value analytical method to set up the FEM models of the typical steel pylon and foundation connecting structures, through the statistics calculation and structural analysis to these FEM models, the mechanical properties of the two connecting methods - submerged connecting and high-strength bolts connecting - are summarized, also the connecting performances are compared and analyzed, which could give some reference in the future to the design and construction of the steel pylon and foundation conjoint part.
