In the paper, in view of the common problems of destructive illness and ageing illness existing in water conveyance caverns, the author sums up the current research situation of destructive illness and ageing illness and the research advance of prevention and control measures and its development tendency of water conveyance cavern at home and abroad. Linking theoretical analysis with practice through indoor experiment and inspection and site investigation and study, the author analyses the observed data of various actual projects in Shandong Province, discusses the role of the way of illness analysis and inspection and improvement in hydro projects and its aim and research significance and contents, makes a thorough study on illness mechanism and prevention and control measures in concrete caverns for water conveyance.
