The core of FengShui theory recommends the harmony of nature and human, So, the idea coincide with nowadays settlement method of global ecology crisis which the mankind faces.The starting point of this thesis carry on development of ecology environment, promotes harmony coexist of the nature and human, reachs sustainable development of the human society. Based on finding out research present situation of the FengShui theory, the thesis combine our country's ancient the FengShui theory with modern planning and design theory in the city's inhabited region, at the same time, the thesis makes concrete analysis through the actual example. The thesis is divided into two parts: theoretical research and instance analysis. Theoretical research part: based on reading more than 300 works and articles and obtaining help and propose from Taoism master. Firstly, the thesis discusses definition, sect, theoretical system and development course at home and abroad of the FengShui theory. Secondly, in the study about theoretical system of planning and design of modern inhabited region, the thesis summarizes from three respects of design idea, principle, method. Finally, the thesis analyzes and obtains the scientific seven major reference principles of the FengShou theory that can be used in the modern landscape design; Instance analysis part: adopting the method that combined investigating the spot with inquiring crowd, and using for seven major principle of the FengShui theory, the thesis analyzed The TongShen Lake Ecology Community which lie in Changsha'city suburb of Hannan province, making theory and practice combine nearer and nearer, promoted the realistic effectiveness of study results, thus the thesis have certain practice reference value to the designer.
