The seismic security of the nonstructural elements is closely linked with the safety of the indicates that the one economic people's lives and properties. A lot of earthquake damage loss caused by the nonstructural elements damage is farmore than thecaused by the structural elements damage in the middling earthquake. Moreover, the nonstructural elements damage probably arouses the people's casualty. So the people more and more regard the seismic security of the nonstructural elements.Three base isolation reinforced concrete buildings representing low-rise, mid-rise, and mid-high-rise buildings are modeled to perform structural simulations by utilizing SAP2000 dynamic analysis. In which the isolator-seismic layer adopt some standard interlayer rubber isolator. Numerical deformations and drifts are compared with those obtained from test data and experienced data to develop seismic design performence level of nonstructural elements. This research does not deal with structural strength or design, but rather deals with structural deformations and drifts that will have an impact on the performance of the architectural. Connection between drift ratio and performance level of nonstructural elements are brought forward. In order to produces a performance based seismic design guide for architects to help them design elements safely and efficiently. Aiming at different performance objectives, architects can now design in a way that the expected performance of a building can be achieved. The results of this thesis can provide some reference for performance based seismic design of nonstructural elements. The aim of this thesis is to through analysing seismic design of nonstructural elements, promote the applications and developments of isolator-seismic structure technology in our country.
