The shaft is one of main motion parts in the pump. Its intensity and the quality of its design directly determine the pump function, efficiency and its lifetime. For recent years, with more and more requests on dependability and motility of the pump, the work condition of the pump shaft becomes more rigorous so intensity of the pump shaft becomes more and more important. Because the traditional design of the pump shaft and its strength calibration are quite tedious, it is extremely necessary and imminent to develop a set of convenience and dependable CAD software to improve the quality and efficiency of shaft part in the pump and to achieve the combination of the pump shaft intensity calibration and AutoCAD.As an undeveloped CAD software system, the SPCAD software, which is the first CAD system for the strength calibration of shaft parts in pumps is completed based on AutoCAD2000 using the ARX and Visual C++ by integrative applying Object-oriented, Modularization and Database technology. This system is composed of seven main parts, including Parameter Input, Drawing Data Read, Load Calculation, Moment Calculation, Database Operation, Intensity Calibration and Critical Speed Calculation. During the process of developing the system, many key technical problems such as how to get data from CAD drawings, dynamic links to database and how to deal with chart data have been well resolved.The software adopts Chinese interface under the windows operation, which is very convenient, friendly and beautiful. It can do different types pump shaft calibration for different user. As an important complement and consummation of the pump CAD system, the SPCAD software system fills up the gap of the pump shaft intensity calibration in pump CAD system. The analysis of much practical case shows that the SPCAD system has some practical value and good market foreground.
