The hydraulics characteristics of flowing water are affected by boundary conditions enormously. The change of boundary conditions maybe causes obvious change of flow state. The flow in open channel bends is one of the most familiar forms in hydropower projects.According to the turning form on space, open channel bends can be sorted as the level bend, the upright bend and the mulriple bend. Some research and study on these three channel bends, based on summarizing the existing achievements and analyzing the dynamics equation for a micro cell, analysis are carried out in this paper.Because of the turning, there must be a centripetal force in all bends. For a level bend, the centripetal force will be provided by the pressure difference between both sides of the micro cell and the expressions of ?H is also given by another comparatively succinct method in this paper. For the upright channel bend, the centripetal force is just the composition of the gravity and the pressure on the bottom. On a convex surface, the pressure is less than...
