Along with Chongqing and West Country big development strategy implementation, the socioeconomy of Nanan region situated at the main city of Yangtze River south bank will develop fast. The demand for water resources will doubles the growth as the expanding city scale. According to this region water medium and long-term supply and demand plan, the water demand for industry and town living will is above 90% of total water demand in 2010. It is the characteristic of city water demand. To meet the water demand growing day by day, solve Ying Long , Guang Yang and so on four towns agriculture irrigation and the water supply question for Chayuan new region as the continue region of host city, Ying Longhu hydraulic engineering is constructed. This project is the one of the 15 key projects of Chongqing "Ze yu".Ying Long Hu hydraulic engineering is located at Ying Long town of Chongqing Nanan region. Its dam site is at the fishing brook river downriver Wu Tang village, which is the first-order branch of Yangtze River Nanan. It is 15km apart from Nanping of Nanan region. The project is composed by the principal junction, discharge constrcutions and the irrigation project. The dam is the rubble stone gravity dam with the thin stone concrete. Its top elevation is 250.87m. The dam spool thread is 307.35m long. The most high of dam is 52m. The reservoir check flood level is 249.31m and the corresponding total storage capacity is 17.98 million m3. This project is the III medium project.The left and right bank geology conditions of the dam site are asymmetrical.
