A Study On Factory Building Strengthening Methods With Applications

Due to natural and manmade adverse condition such as miscalculation in design, construction or improper use, lots of buildings suffer structural carrying capacity, which undermines public safety. Such background emphasizes the importance of scientific appraisal and management for engineers in structural appraisal and strengthening field. Since last 50's, new technology and renovation have been developed and applied with high speed.Usually the strengthening methods are restricted to few options due to structure condition, which is especially obvious for factory buildings that often bears complex structure subject to perplexing loads and atrocious environment. So the factory building appraisal and strengthening is always the complication in civil engineering. In this paper, based on the theoretical analysis, the factory building strengthening methods are studied in order to acquired proper scheme considering both safety and economy, after that, some application are demonstrated for comprehension and further reference.
