Hardware Design And Realization Of GPS/DR Integrated Navigation System For Vehicle Based On Embedded System

With the increasing of vehicle in city and enlargement of city's scale, it has been hotspot of study in civil and overseas that optimization in running of city vehicles harmonized by using modern intelligent transports system. GPS position and navigation system for vehicle is an important part of ITS, but on the urban street or in the space between the high buildings, the signal of GPS may be interrupted which will result in GPS's position error, especially tunnels in city. So it has been the emphasis of study in vehicle navigation system which using GPS/DR Integrated Navigation System to solve the lost of GPS signal in city valley.A hardware design of GPS/DR integrated navigation system for vehicle based on embedded microprocessor of Intel XScale pxa255, GPS OEM module and DR sensor is given in this paper. Using GPS module to get the data of position and using DR device to aid GPS module, the system can provide the users with the real-time location information. This paper firstly introduces the method of GPS module to get positioning data, then how the DR device to work is analyzed. Information fusion and Kalman Filtering is also introduced.This paper has put focus on the hardware design of integrated navigation system for vehicle.Firstly, the embedded microprocessor of Intel XScale PXA255 was introduced in this paper, and the whole design of hardware was imported. The figure for the system's hardware framework is also provided.Secondly, the minimal system of hardware was described. The minimal system mainly includes power, JTAG interface, SDRAM, flash. This paper also analyzes the work method these device.
