To carry out motor vehicle inspection and maintenance (I/M) programs entirely is the trend of motor vehicle pollution protection task. As an important part of inspection and maintenance programs, motor vehicle emission inspection provides technology method and decision foundation for vehicle emission protection task. Applying advanced information technology to vehicle emission inspection management is an important way to improve the ability of vehicle emission inspection, and enhance vehicle inspection management level, and promote vehicle pollution protection and management task.From the point of view of constructing software system architecture, Thesis mainly researches on applying distributed multi-tier architecture to design and implement vehicle emission inspection management system. Firstly, author introduces vehicle I/M programs and general development of vehicle emission inspection technology. Then summarizes the technology of distributed multi-tier architecture.
