As an important branch of CSCW, cooperative design is considered a group-working style based on effective communication and collaboration, and multi-group participates in a single project by using computer. A complex task is usually divided into some mini tasks, each of them is in charge of different group.As the complex process of aircraft design, multi-team to work cooperatively is needed. In the designing process, conflicts are caused by different background knowledge of teams or members in one team, different aspect of issue view and different evaluation standard. Because the efficiency of design can be reduced by conflicts, conflict detection is considered one of the important functions in cooperative design system. So far, no effective way is proposed to detect conflicts in aircraft design because of the multifarious conflicts and the complex detection process.Firstly the basic concepts of CSCW, CSCD and their relationship were introduced in the thesis. The causation and character of conflict in aircraft cooperative design were analyzed, and a layered constraint network was given during the research on constraint knowledge expression. Afterwards a constraint data structure based on binary tree was founded, which solved the problem of constraint storage and expression. Then an improved interval propagation algorithm was brought up which solved the detection of multi-variable, value continuous constraints in aircraft cooperative design. At last, the implementation and execution of conflict detection subsystem was validated.
