To improve real time and reliability of micro engine control system, a design scheme of engine rapid prototype control system based on VxWorks is proposed in this paper. The feasibility of the engine rapid prototype control system is validated by a serial of experiments, and engine ignition experiment has succeedded.Firstly, the development actuality and prospect of the embedded operation system is introduced. The structure characteristics, principles and applications of the embedded operation system VxWorks are also introduced in the paper. The structure, the hardware environment and the control program design of engine rapid prototype control system based on VxWorks are expatiated. Then, the control system development is validated by a closed-loop simulation test system with aero-engine model. Finally, engine ignition experiment based on rapid prototype control system is introduced, and experiment results are analyzed. The results show that the engine rapid prototype control system based on VxWorks has desirable property on reliability and real time performance in the engine ignition experiment.
