With the continuous development of economy and society, sustainable development is a key task for modern people. In HVACR field, it is very important to improve energy utilization efficiency and reduce consumption of energy while ensuring health and comfort of occupants. As a main method to realize this object, system optimization and controlling technology has attracted more and more attention.Optimization of HVACR system is a non-linear question with multi variables. The number of variables is large, the relationship between the variables is complex and the sub-systems are interacting. So building model and optimization of the system has been always the key point in related theoretical and practical research. Taking water source heat pump(WSHP) system as an example, this paper is concerned with the process model, steady-state optimization model and optimization algorithm based on the analysis of characteristics of the system. The main contributions and results are as follows:On the basis of reviewing the previous research work on the optimization of HVACR system, the concept, steps, structure and algorithm of the optimization technology have been detailedly explained in the paper. A theoretical foundation is laid for the following optimization research of WSHP system.According to the practical process of WSHP system, mathematical models of all parts of the system are established. Especially, on the basis of previous research work, operation characteristics of the pumps are analyzed and well matched pump models are established. Adopting least square method, model parameters are identified.Then, deeply analyzing optimization characteristics of the WSHP system and fixing optimization object and variables of the system, combining with mathematical models of all parts and with factors of safety, stability and feasibility etc as restriction conditions, steady-state optimization model of the WSHP system is established. Adopting SQP algorithm and on the platform of MATLAB, the optimization model is solved.Finally, with the method of exergy concept, the energy utilization efficiency of the system is deeply analyzed. Optimization results show that the newly increased profit is considerable if they run under the steady-state optimization operation.
