Several kinds of difference formats have been set up according to the discussion of the numerical method on diffusion equation for suspended sediment.This kind of model mainly studies the suspended sediment distributes along the water depth and the sediment content change process.It plays an important role on the research of the utilization of water resource and ecological environment conservation. In Tarim River Basin in xinjiang , the river has been cut by 320km since 1970s;the natural greenbelt also has been disappear;ecological environment has been deteriorated seriously.All these have threatened the sustainable development of this area. Therefore,it is meaningful to research the Numerical method of diffusion equation for suspended sediment.In the natural river,the movement of suspended sediment is closely connected with river bed washing out and silting up , taking water , draining water and so on the actual production question.Therefore,it is necessary to research diffusion equation for suspended sediment because it describes the sediment move process in the water body.The equation is a various coefficients second-order linear partial differential equa-tion,such equation under complex boundary condition is very difficult to get its analytical solution,while its numerical solution relative analytical solution is more easier and has the obvious superiority:simple,the computation convenience.but to get a kind of difference format which is good accuracy and stability is not easy.Because the equation is a various coefficients second-order parabolical partial differential equation,explicit difference formats usually have high condition for stability. Implicit difference formats have good stability,but they must calculate a set of algebraic equations,which are too complex.In order to overcome the shortcom-ing,we often use ADI method,but it still has some disadvantages,so it is necessary to establish better difference formats.This paper made some essential improvement,established several kinds of differ-...
