The exploration adits in the dam area reveal that the pyrite layer is distributed in the dolostone of Sinian, the elevation of which is lower than the impounded levl of the power station. After the impounding of reservoir, the pyrite layer will be inundated, which will destroy the initial balance and change the existential state and redox environment. During the process of pyrite reacting with the water, many complex chemical reactions and some toxic and harmful substances such as strong-acid water will be generated. Strong-acid water will accelerate the solution of relevant minerals and rocks and greatly increase the dissolved rate and transportation of harmful chemical substances. This must influence the surrounding water system, the environment and the stabilization of slope in the dam area. The dam foundation will probably be eroded, which will impact on the stabilization of the slope and the leakage of the power station. Consequently, the safety of the hydraulic engineering may be endangered, causing heavy damager.The discarded pyrite slag caused by the mining of sulfur piles on the the surface of the right bank .It will take place the leaching action, and the strongly corrosion tan acid water will be generated. Its pH is 2.60, SO42- 12000mg/L.The water with strong acidity and high value of SO42- will also bring definite influence to the water ,ecological environment and dam body.Based on the investigation of the pyrite distribution, scale, geology and hydrogeology in the dam area, this paper studies the formation mechanism of the acid water caused by the leaching of the pyrite slag in the stratum and ground and analyses its influencing factors. Combining with the hydrogeologic conditions, the migration and diffusion model after the leaching of the pyrite (slag) will be set up. Meanwhile, on the foundation of simulating the natural seepage field of the dam area, simulating the migration and diffusion of the leaching liquid in the stratum. According to the...
