An unixial compressive test on 13 reinforced high strength concrete short columns was carried out, in which, 7 were conventional reinforced and 6 were regional confined nonlinear analysis. Different from the traditional one, the regional confined concrete column has its won configuration of reinforcement. Based on test results, the influence of reinforcement to the limited strength and ductility was discussed; the ductility of the regional confined high strength concrete short columns was proved better than the conventional under axial load. In addition, by adopting general finite element software ANSYS, a nonlinear finite element analysis was conducted to the regional confined high strength concrete short columns; the behavior of reinforcement and stirrups was relieved and different region could have different confined strength zones through theoretical analysis.
