Amino-sulfonic acid-based water-reducer was characteristic of high water-reducing rate and preventing concrete mixture from slump loss with time duration. Nowadays, development of amino-sulfonic acid-based water-reducer has been a modern frontier research project. In this thesis, the research and application actualities of high performance water reducers both in and outside China were introduced in detail, the synthetic methods and development trends of Amino-sulfonic acid-based high performance water-reducer were analyzed. Based on the functional group theory, beginning with the chemical structure and action mechanisms of high performance water reducers, the branched polymer structure of amino-sulfonic acid-based high performance water-reducer with amino group-carboxyl group-ether link-sulfonate group was designed and synthesized.By means of optimizing the parameters of synthesis process such as reactant concentration, monomer mol ratio, pH value, reactant temperature, reactant time, feeding procedure and speed as well as selection of the fourth monomer, amino-sulfonic acid-based water-reducer with high water-reducing rate, low water segregation rate, air entrainment and preventing concrete mixture from slump loss with time duration was polymerized with sodium sulfanilate, phenol and formaldehyde as main raw materials.Through the studying of surface properties such as surface tension of water-reducer concentration, zeta potential and adsorption capacity onto cement particles and IR analysis of synthetic product, the water-reducing mechanism was exploited. According to correlative standards, applied properties of amino-sulfonic acid-based high performance water-reducer mixed in cement and concrete such as water-reducing rate, compressive strength ratio, water segregation rate, setting time, slump loss with time duration, air-containing capacity, dry shrinkage, impermeability, freeze-thaw resistance, compatibility with cement and synergistic effect with naphthalene-based water-reducer were tested by contrast experiments with other types of water-reducers.
