Discussion and research on urban morphology and function have been continuing up to now with the development of city. In the process of urbanization presently, there have been problems of function confusion, population convergency and city extending without order which is caused by the too large a scale constructure of the city. A lot of methods from different viewpoints of architecture, bionomics, sociology have been taken out to promote city and nature developing harmoniously, create human settlements well.The planning thought of the green-core ring city originated from "Garden City"of Ebenezer Howard, and blended the organic evacuation theories of Eliel Saarinen. With the practice and development in Randstad, it gradually became perspicuity. Eventually, a kind of urban morphology was formed in city development that was adapted to particular development stage and region environment. Our country made it into practice in the city planning of Leshan in the 1980's. The green-core ring city makes a good use of the ecosystem function of green-core, and brings advantage of several regiment development into play, changing the morphology of the city from the single center to several regiment with the method of evacuating function from single center city to other zones. All of that promotes urbanization healthily.At first, the theoretical source of theory in green-core ring city is expatiated, and the factors are analyzed which impact morphology and overall arrangement of the green-core ring city,at the same time ,the typical planning and construction of green-core ring city are introduced in domestic and internation. Next, discusses the science value of it. At last, discussing the construction of the green-core ring city with the construction practice in the collectivity planning of Minqing in Fujian province. At the base of making a review on the theory of urban planning and analyzing the practice of other ralated city construction, the article probes into the functional significance of the urban morphology and methods of the planning in order to providing kinds of ideas on the construction and planning practice of green-core ring city.
