Recently Standard for seismic appraiser of building(GB 50023-95) specify that the structure, satisfied the requirment of the Standard, should not collapse or break important machine when subjected to frequent earthquake, and can continue using after repair. But how to verify the object is unspecitified in the standard. Through previous research on this area, it is indicated that the check of structure elastic-plastic displacement for RC frame structure is very necessary, although structure pass through two-stage appraiser. So a specific method of caculating elastic-plastic displacement should be given in the next revision of Standard for seismic appraiser of building. New passive energy dissipation and vibration absorption retrofit method. and dissipative cell has been used in the new building structure and existing structure. This method has been a new and effective means in retrofit technology. But many aspects on this area should be completed and studied. Otherwise the change of structure seismic performance fore and ofter retrofit should be discussed.Seismic Appraiser and dissipative retrofit method of frame structrue will be studied in this text, the detail is as follows:(1) Draw lessons from simplified method in the Code for seismic design of buildings, this method is used in the Standard for seismic appraiser of building to caculate nonlinear displacement of RC frame structure. Beacause the yield strength factor of the structure subjected to frequent earthquake is usually larger than 0.5. the amplification factorηΡin the elastic-plastic story drift is statisticed for the regular RC frame structures(3~10 stories), which have the same yield strength factor(0.6~0.9) along the height.(2) A calculation example is given in the text, the results computed by the simplified caculation method is checked and compared with the results caculated by the static nonlinear analysis (Push-over) and elastic-plastic dynamic time-history analysis methods. The correct of the amplification factorηΡand the applicability for simplified method for caculating nonlinear displacement of RC frame structure is discussed in the text.(3) Technique parameters of viscous damper are researched.
