| In recent years, the method applying tuned liquid dampers (TLD) to control vibration attracts more and more researchers in recent studies. TLD systems have been practically applied to control vibration for many obvious virtues, and observable effects of vibration control have been obtained. But the research applying TLD to control the dynamic response of building structure is limited to wind–vibration, and the study on the control of earthquake response of building structure is incomplete, many problems are to be resolved.In this paper, TLD system is simplified the planar mode by the finite element method. The regularity of vibration for TLD is studied through the analysis of vibration reduction to finite element mode. The main contents are as follows: A review about the research of TLD. The effect of vibration reduction for simplified mode based on TLD is analyzed. Finite element method is used to carry on numerical simulation of fluid-structure interaction for the system of TLD, and a verification of the reliability of fluid-structure coupled mode is made. According to an actual project, the analysis of vibration reduction for TLD is carried on, and the recommendations about design are presented.Below are the conclusions:①U nder the situation that the natural period is not long, the control effect to the structure is well when the slosh frequency the liquid in TLD is closed to the first natural frequency of the structure.②In the case of the constant slosh frequency of liquid in TLD, the bigger the mass ratio between liquid and structure is, the better the effects of vibration reduction is. If the mass ratio is within the scope of 1.5%~3%, the effects of vibration reduction will be up to 20%~40%.③The outstanding period of earthquake is close to the natural period of structure, which results in good effects of vibration control of TLD system, which is disadvantage for earthquake-resistance of overall structure.④Finite element method is used to carry on numerical simulation of fluid-structure interaction for the system of TLD. Contrasted with simplified model, the coupled fluid-structure model, built up with this kind of method, has the equal credibility. Therefore, the fluid-structure interaction can be effectively stimulated. |
