Nowadays the style of hollow structure is widely used in bridge structure. It is well known that all kinds of core formworks are used in order to build the hollow structure. In recent years, a new type of permanent concrete core formwork that is called GBF high strength compound thin-walled tube is widely used in structural engineering. This thesis proposes that GBF high strength compound thin-walled tube can be applied to the structure of reinforced concrete continuous slab bridge, and has conducted the related experimental study and fundamental research.1. Four tow-span continuous slabs have been tested in this thesis, inside which the GBF thin-walled tubes were placed to be parallel with the span direction (The slabs are called GBF parallel continuous slab in short.). Through the experiment, the mechanical properties in both the elastic stage and plastic stage of the GBF parallel continuous slabs have been investigated. And it was indicated that the GBF parallel continuous slabs had fine performance of plastic internal force redistribution. All the continuous slabs could develop full internal force redistribution under various values of moment modulating (16.5%~30.7%).2. In order to make the research overall, in the experiment a tow-span continuous slab was tested inside which the GBF thin-walled tubes were placed to be vertical with the span direction (The slab is called GBF vertical continuous slab in short.). The experiment results showed that the moment redistribution ability of the GBF vertical continuous slab is almost the same as that of the GBF parallel continuous slab. But the rigidity of the GBF vertical continuous slab is smaller than that of the GBF parallel continuous slab, so that the service performance of the GBF vertical continuous slab isn't so good as the GBF parallel continuous slab.3. Based on related study, the carrying-capacity of head-on cross-section of the GBF parallel continuous slab when the function of the tubes are taken into account is analyzed and calculated more precisely, and the programme which can be used to calculate the carrying-capacity of head-on cross-section when the function of the tubes are taken into account has been established in the thesis.4. The maximum value of moment modulating that can meet the load-carrying ability requirement is analyzed in theory, and some related formulas are deduced at the same time.5.
