Using aluminum alloy as a kind of building materials is a new trend in Civil Engineering, with the more and more use of aluminum alloy in the field of Civil Engineering in China, it is becoming an important work to study the behavior of fundamental members of aluminum alloy under the force. For axially loaded strut, one of the fundamental member, it's behavior of stability is the most important factor for its bearing capacity. But in our country, because of the lag of studying work for aluminum alloy structure and without the code for this kind of structure, the use of aluminum alloy structure is limited. So, for the development and use of the aluminum alloy structure and the establishment of the code for the aluminum structure, it is necessary to study the behavior of fundamental members of aluminum alloy structure.In this paper, by using the method of experiment researching an theory analysis, the stability of the axially loaded aluminum alloy pipe in structure of the folding tent was studied. According to the requirement, the members, the method, and the data for researching was determined. And then, the result of experiment was analyzed: firstly, according to the result of material experiment material of aluminum alloy is given. Secondly, the main work of the dissertation is carrying on the research of the stability of aluminum alloy pipe axial compression members by means of large-scale project finite element calculation procedure ANSYS. The stability coefficient of the aluminum alloy pipe axial compression member's calculated formula are analyzed in this thesis by measuring aluminum alloy pipe axial compression member's ultimate bearing capacity to different slenderness ratios. According to the result of experiment of the axially loaded aluminum alloy pipe was proved to be precise and fit for this kind of member. So it can be used to calculate the bearing capacity of stability of axially loaded aluminum alloy pipe. Finally the safety coefficient of the aluminum alloy pipe axial compression member's is given.
