The rail transit has two forms: rail transit in city (urban rail for short) and rail transit between cities. Compared with other vehicles, they have many advantages. At the meanwhile, the noise made by it brings some negative effects onto our normal lives. In this test, how to reduce the rail transit noise was discussed and solved.At first, the wheel was analyzed in the principle of finite element. Take the wheel of underground as the model, use the analysis to solve its modals and natural frequency, and make sure that the biggest vibration amplitude below five thousands Hz comes out at the tread and the web. There are the best places for dampers.Secondly, experiments were made to analyze the effect of the wheel damper, we used the system composed of a self-made pendulum, three acceleration sensors, a four-channel charge amplifier, a sound level meter, a signal collection analyzer and the DASP software. The exciting method was improved, during the experiments. So that we could get more exact results, and the results could compare with each other. We analyzed the influences of many kinds of factor on the noise-lowing effect. We did some analysis about the relativity between the vibration and the noise of the wheel. After the testing of the first line of Guangzhou underground, we found that the existing wheel damper has nothing to do with the noise of wheel less than four thousands Hz. Compared of different contributions of the tread vibration and the web vibration on sound level of railway noise.Then according to the demand of the wheel damper and the characteristic of the tread vibration and the web vibration, a new type of wheel damper was designed and produced. It aims at the vibration of wheel tread. Because that the vibration amplitude of the tread is larger than the vibration amplitude of the web. The noise reducing performance of the wheel damper is supposed to be improved.At last, we did lots of experiments about kinds of factors, which have some influence on the effect of wheel damper, and ascertained the best parameters of damper and the best place to fix it.
