The tank is an important part of propulsion system in satellite. Diaphragm tank is widely used in flying organ because of its reliable and simple construction. So it is the key how to dilate the life-time that study the performance of the diaphragm. At present, we use rubber as the material of the diaphragm. It is low life-time because of its poor corrosion resistance. In this paper, we use pure aluminum instead of rubber as the diaphragm material. To do this, it could dilate the life-time of the tank. So it can be widely used.According to the deformation of elastic-plastic theory, the finite element analysis model of metal diaphragm for tank of propulsion system in satellite was established in this paper. The deforming and reversing process of the metal diaphragm was simulated under certain condition. At the same condition of pressure, the deformation processes of four different kinds thickness of diaphragm were shown in this paper. Comparing with their deforming process, we got the best regular of the thickness distribution. And then, at the same condition of thickness, analyzing the deforming and reversing process of the diaphragm under three different kinds curves of time-pressure, a best time-pressure curve was gotten.Discussing the size of the diaphragm and the finite element analysis model, the optimum design of diaphragm construction was shown in this paper. Finally, comparing the deforming and reversing of the metal diaphragm and the result of simulation with the theory curves and experiment result, we got the correct conclusion. It also supplied an evidence for diaphragm changing.
