Diaphragm compressor is special compressor, which is relying on the diaphragm reciprocating deflection driven by hydraulic oil to change cavity volume and compress gas, diaphragm is the most important and most vulnerable parts. In this paper, based on the principle of diaphragm compressor, analyse and research the diaphragm and cavity used the elasticity, thin flexible circular plate, data fitting, parameters optimization, and FEA. Main content:1. The force of diaphragm compressors has been analysed in detail, the relationship between diaphragm deflection and force has been got, the deflection coefficient under the conditions of the free deformation and in particular deflection has been selected, Then the alternating stress in compressor working, and the additional stress of the valve has been analysed, the main reason theoretically for diaphragm damaged has been got. This lay the foundation for optimization design on the structural parameters of the cavity.2. The theoretical knowledge and methods on the curve fitting has been introduced, and the relevant data provided by Beijing Huizhi M&E Facilities Co., Ltd has been fitted. A group of more satisfactory reference data was got initially.3. A mathematical model based on optimization toolbox of matlab for the relevant parameters from previous analysis has been established, and optimized. Finally, we combinated the structure parameters from optimization and determine the optimal combination of structural parameters. That provided new ideas and new methods for optimizing cavity curve, and the results provided a theoretical basis for the cavity design.4. A finite element model has been established for diaphragm and cavity of compressor based on ABAQUS which is well-known international software for FEA, and the stress and strain of the measured data and the optimized data under the maximum pressure has been analyzed, the stress distribution for diaphragm of diaphragm compressors has been got. Results shows, the optimized data has been improving the stress state of the diaphragm under the premise which is not reduced the compressor displacement as much as possible. That provided a theoretical basis for manufacture diaphragm compressor.
