Water hydraulic transmission technology, which uses natural sea water or fresh water as working medium of hydraulic system to replace mineral oil, is a neotype transmission technology. Its working medium has abroad source, and it is clean and safe, so water hydraulic transmission technology accords with requirement of environment protection and sustainable development, has extensive application prospect, and has been one of research hotspots in the field of international fluid power transmission and control.This paper carries out pilot study on water hydraulic proportional control valve, and selects water hydraulic proportional throttle valve as research object, of which the structure is comparatively simple. Borrowing ideas from design theory and structure type of oil hydraulic proportional throttle valve and taking domestic and overseas correlative development as reference, this paper determines working conditions of the valve, designs its structure, selects suitable materials of its components, and performs corresponding intensity and temperature check.This paper analyzes the steady-state characteristic of the two main components of the water hydraulic proportional throttle valve including slide valve and proportional solenoid, and analyzes the whole valve's steady-state characteristic also. This paper studies the operational capacity and performance of the valve in detail, and determines main influencing factors of its steady-state characteristic.This paper establishes the mathematic model which expresses the dynamic characteristic of the water hydraulic proportional valve, and performs emulation study on time-domain and frequency-domain dynamic characteristic of the valve using MATLAB. Finally, main influencing factors of dynamic characteristic are determined by analyzing some indexes of its dynamic characteristic.
