People generally realized that enlarging the scale of electric power system does bring considerable social and economic benefits in terms of energy exploitation, Industry distribution, load adjustment and secure and economical operation. Electric power system has become the energy artery and fundamental Industry and still developing.But, In order to bring the advantages of joint system into play, the precondition is that we should guarantee the secure and stable operation of electric power system. Electric power system endures various kinds of impulsion consecutively. If we don't adopt any measures, it is prone to induce chain reaction and result in large scale power cut.In order to guarantee the security of electric power system, we must do the transient stability calculation and analysis during the stage of system program, design and operation. The aim of transient stability calculation is to confirm whether all generators can maintain synchronous operation in the system after serious disturbance, to analyze the factors that can infect the transient stability and to research the methods that can improve transient stability of electric power system further. Namely, when the stability doesn't satisfy the requirements or there is need to enhance the transmission capacity, we should study and adopt corresponding measures to improve the stability.
