This paper represents the visualized experimental study on two-phase flow in capillary tube, including four parts of work as follows:1 Build a small-scale refrigeration system and a water-temperature controlling system to make the inlet water temperature of the condenser stable. Under the different working conditions, obtain a series of experimental data.2 Design and build an image acquisition system, including CCD camera, image acquisition chip, light and computer. Visualize the two-phase flow of refrigerant in capillary tube and obtain lots of two-phase flow images at different positions of the capillary tube with this system.3 Based on the homogeneous two-phase flow model, exploit a numerical simulation program to calculate degrees of dryness and vacuole along the capillary tube. The results of the simulation are the references to the image analysis.4 Based on the digital image manipulation theory, exploit a method to manipulate the two-phase flow images with the aid of IMAQ software. Analyze two-phase flow characteristics of refrigerant in capillary tube with the manipulated images.
