First, the development and characteristic of harmonic drive are presented. the flexspline is the important part of the harmonic drive. And the invalidation of the harmonic drive mostly is the fatigue rupture of the flexspline. As to improve the life-span of the harmonic drive, the improve of the flexspline intensity is required. In this thesis, one harmonic drive system has been researched. On the basis of the known research on the intensity of the flexspline. The static analysis finite element model which include nonlinear contact are set up for the first time, the stress state of the flexspline were obtained with it. Comparing with the FEM which take force displacement as its boundary condition. It is consistent in result but more realistic in boundary condition and work environment. So the FEM including contact is reliable. When the harmonic drive is designed for space remote sensor, the parameter of it is needed to match the mesh capability. And the lighter quality, higher intensity and stiffness are plus. So the mode analysis of the structure has been done base on the static analysis as to meet the requirement. And mode experiment was done too, frequency response function and mode parameter were obtained by adopting fast frequency response testing of transient impulse and mode identifying. The finite element model has been proved to be correct by comparing the result of the FEA with experiment.Base on this, the parameter of the finite element model was modified time and again in range of ensuring the mesh capability. By comparing analysis results, one of the flexspline was obtained. It has greater intensity, lighter quality and makes the system stiffness eligible. In this way, the more satisfactory and valuable reference was been supplied in choosing the parameter of the flexspline.
