As an important type of Concrete-filled Steel Tube structure, Concrete-filled Square Steel Tube structure is widely applied in engineering and has acquired many economical and social benefits, but the research on all kinds of connection is not enough. The paper selects a new type of connection between Concrete-filled Square Steel Tube column and H-type steel beam, and systematically studies static performance by experimental research , theoretical analysis and numerical simulation . The paper includes four parts as follow. Firstly, the static test of connection between Concrete-filled Square Steel Tube column and steel beam with outer diaphragms is done. Curves to this connections specimens between displacement and single load is shown. Secondly, depending on the existing theories and experimental research results, the model of tension steel beam flange in exterior diaphragm connection is chose. Actuating mechanism, damage forms and working behavior under monotonic horizontal load are analyzed. By using yield line theory, the calculation formulas of shear load-carrying capacity and flexural capacity are given. Thirdly, theoretical analysis is based on nonlinear finite element method and elastic-plastic constitution relationships of steel and concrete are put forward. Computer simulation of the test with ANSYS is given. This process includes setting up the proper three-dimension model, setting the proper material parameters and effective meshing model. After this, the load-displacement curves under single horizontal load are given. The influences of core concrete strength and axial compression ratio to the connection bearing behavior are basically discussed. In the end, designing advice to the new connection is brought forward by referencing design code and qualitative acceptance specification ;from the comparison between the computer simulation ,a conclusion is drawn that this type of connection between Concrete-filled Square Steel Tube column and H-type steel beam has ideal bearing behavior and available prospect.
