This paper is mainly to discuss the designing and realization of a DSP based digital flight attitude simulator, including its applications in an aircraft carried radar ATE. Flight attitude simulators are special devices to generate flight attitude signals in many testing. The traditional analog simulators are low precision, not generally applicable for different type of equipment and difficulty to interface to ATE. Thus a DSP based digital flight attitude simulator was designed. The simulator can generate high precision flight heading, rolling and pitch signals simultaneously with fast tracking speed. And it also can be connected to computer or embedded into an ATE system for easy control. The simulators can be used not only in aircraft carried radar ground testing, but also in other aircraft carried equipments ground testing. The simulator has been successfully used in a radar ATE for antenna space stability testing. The paper described the system hardware structure and working principle briefly. In addition, it has included algorithm and main code. The problem of generates flight attitude signals in flight and warship navigation increasingly is of much concern. So the method we have discussed in this paper may be of help to those who do similar work.
