The Preliminary Studies On The Planning Of Urban Wetland Park

Wetland is known as 'Earth kidney' for its ecological functions and one of the three global ecosystems together with marines and forests. It is of the most biodiversity and highest ecological functions in nature. It is valuable for human being and society for its rich natural resources, which is the most important environment and habitat for human and wildlife (especially for birds). It has irreplaceable functions in resisting and adjusting floods and slowing the run off, controlling pollution and depredating pollutants and so on, and has a great function of production together with the landscape and cultural value. But nowadays the area of wetland is reducing, and its environment is deteriorating as a result of human's unreasonable development, which is grim future for the human survival.Urban wetlands are the ecological transition belt between urban and rural area ,which is so sensitive that it would impact the city's sustainable development once was destroyed. Just because its particular functions and un-renewable, protection and exploitation of urban wetlands have been being concerned. Now many people are paying more attention for its protection and employment, such as the London Wetland Center, the Hong Kong Cattail Wetland and Xixi Wetland Park. From those successful examples, we can find a new way to protect and explore the wetland, which is urban wetland park. While the research of Wetland Park is on the initial stage in China, there are many problems to study.Firstly, the thesis tells of some relative concept, functions and ecological characteristics of urban wetland parks, then made a conclusion of its developing status and the principles of planning an urban wetland park. On the base of examples survey, discussed the landscape planning of its water system, biological system, revetment system and landscape system in the urban wetland park from the prospect of ecology. Lastly, the thesis made a planning and design of Jing Lake wetland as a specific example. Urban wetland is a synthetic subject of ecology, art and functions, which is a multidisciplinary subject. The thesis illustrated how to plan and design a wet land park scientifically and construct the park properly and comprehensively, based on the understanding of the conception of urban wetland park, hoping that will proved a primary frame of designing wetland parks on the base of ecological principle, which will form a sustainable development theory of multidisciplinary subjects.
