The Application And Research On Constructed Wetland

Constructed wetlands are artificial wastewater treatment systems which contain physical, chemical and biological process in the ecosystem, and treat wastewater efficiently according to filtration, absorption, deposition, hydronium exchange, as well as microbe decomposition. Constructed wetland is a process which can provide an artificial environment for aquatic plants and phreatophyte plants and treat wastewater.Constructed wetland is an integrated ecology system with high economic and eco efficiency. It forms a stable internal recycle by itself, and includes many advantages such as low investment, high effluent water quality, augmenting green area, improving eco-environment, good sight vision, simple operation, low maintenance and running cost.During the landscape design, constructed wetland as an important element of water features design is different from single wastewater treatment process. It not only has eco-function, but also is the important part of sight design. It can build up wetland sight, improve local climate, and provide various ecosystems. Because of its eco-function, when constructed wetland is designed, sight designer should take ecology elements into account. As a result, it can consider both aesthetics and ecology and provide an excellent environment for people to live with nature.On the basis of landscape design and aquatic ecology, this paper analyzed the constructed wetland's operation mechanism and construction process. Meanwhile, it discussed the feasibility of applying constructed wetland in sight design. It focused on FWS and VSB constructed wetland, studied their design and construction method, and analyzed the application in the Tongzhou Culture Park project as well as Tianjin Dongli Lake project. From the point of both large sight plan of park and small water sight design, it discussed about the method of applying constructed wetland into sight design. At last, it concluded the problems and solution methods in the construction of constructed wetland. The main contribution of this paper is the research about how to apply aesthetic, ecological and economic principle to into landscape design.
