Carbon fiber sheet ( CFS ) is a new method that reinforce the concrete construction, because it have the high strength, light weight, bear to decay, easy operation, not affect the construction of the shape and the external appearance, in recent years it has extensive application in reinforcing the concrete construction, research and develop carbon fiber sheet to strengthen the construction have importance of engineering application value.Based on the research condition in china and other countries, the following aspects are studied on the new technology of carbon fiber reinforced plastics on strengthing & repairing concrete structures.1.Firstly the characteristic and applicative field of the common strengthening methods are introduced, then this paper refers to the properties of CFS,the construction technique of reinforcing concrete structures with CFS,the theory-developing and the practical application about CFS.2.Based on the experiments of domestic and abroad ,this paper analyses the loading properties, failure mechanism and mode of the beams reinforced by carbon fiber sheet. On the basis of the test results, a comuting method on how to calculate the flexural capacity precisely of the flexural beams strengthened with CFS.The designing method, which is for the flexural beams, is proposed in this paper.At last, finite element analysis(FEA) is done by using software ANSYS,and the FEA results indicates that the CFS increases the ultimate flexural capacity of the strengthening beam. All these agree with the experiment results.3.The methods of shear strengthening of reinforced concrete beams with CFS are described in this paper. The ways of shear-destruction of the beam, the factors affecting shear resistance capacity, the developing of stress are also introduced. According to the characters of shear destruction, this paper analyses the calculation method of beam's shear resistance capacity and proposes some suggestions about how to increase the effect of shear strengthening.
