Leaning-type arch bridge is the spatial stress system made up of two vertical arches and two inclined arches. It is a new type combinatorial bridge with beam and arch. With simple structure form and particular sculpt, it tries to give the same importance to the traffic as to the pedestrian and it is more competitive of wide city bridges. Based on Kunshan Yufeng bridge, this thesis investigates the design theories of leaning-type hybrid bridge of arch and beam. This thesis introduces the development of arch bridges, the characteristics of combinatorial bridge with beam and arch and several leaning-type arch bridges being built or having been built.During the research of leaning-type arch bridge, this thesis expatiates the meaning, influencing factor, process and design contents of bridge conceptual design. And it also analyses the different system characteristics of leaning-type arch bridge and introduces the key technique problems about the design of Kunshan Yufeng bridge. There are many design parameters that influence the structure internal force and stability of leaning-type arch bridge. In this thesis, the ratio of rise to span and the stiffness ratio are chosen to be the research parameters which affect the structure internal force. The parameters which affect the stability are structure system, the rake angle of leaning arch, the number, the stiffness and location of transverse bracings and so on.Finally it discusses the theory and methods of how to determine and adjust the suspender tension of the leaning-type arch bridge. Combined with the characteristic of dense suspender, the tension sequence and tension force of Yufeng bridge have been decided reasonably.
