The anchorage problem of CFRP bars has to be solved if it is to be used in the prestressed structures. The post-tensioning method is widely used in bridge engineering, so it is necessary to analyse the anchorage of CFRP bars in particular. The essay theoretically analysed the wedge anchorage of CFRP prestressed reiforcement and studied it through examinations. To avoid slip of CFRP bars, the friction angle between soft metal pipe and CFRP bars should be larger than the sum of barrel's conical angle and friction angle between wedge and barrel. The difference between the average tension of barrel in circumferential direction and the average compression stress of barrel should be less than the yield strength of barrel. The larger the conical angle of barrel is, the bigger the contact stress of CFRP bars is. If the conical angle is too small, the contact stress of CFRP bars will increase too. If the conical angle difference is too large, the anchorage length will minish and the contact stress of CFRP bars will increase. It's propitious to CFRP bars if the anchorage length is longer or the thickness of aluminium pipe is appropriate. The prestressing load has something to do with the displacement of CFRP bars, but has nothing to do with the utmost strength of CFRP bars. With the results of finit element analysis, two kinds of anchorage for CFRP prestressed reinforced were developed. Through some experiments of these anchorages, usability and practicability of the anchorage were validated.
