Wind is a common natural phenomenon which can cause great disaster every year all over the world. The purpose of wind vibration control is for the structure to bear the maximum wind load and reduce the wind vibration displacement during its constructing stage and working stage after setting up. In the wind vibration control design, it is common that the dissipating devices are adopted to control the structural displacement response under wind vibration and the maximum displacement value can be controled within the human accepting value so as to prevent from structural damaging or human uncomfortable feeling caused by wind vibration.The tubelike viscoelastic damper is basically a velocity damper. Based on the special property of strain lagging behind stress for the viscoelastic material, the tubelike viscoelastic damper can dissipate vibration energy through the shear deformation of the viscoelastic layer after adding them in the structure. In this process, the wind vibration responses of structure are reduced, thus the structure are protected during wind vibration.In this thesis,the dynamic behaviors of the tubelike viscoelastic dampers are studied in theory and in dynamic tests, the test values of the VE damper's dynamic behavior are measured under the different temperature, frequency and strain value. Based on these, the influences of temperature, frequency and strain values on the dynamic behaviors are analysed respectively. Meanwhile, the aging test and the fatigue test of the tubelike viscoelastic dampers are performed. The test results indicate that the aging behaviors of the tubelike viscoelastic dampers can satisfy the engineering requirements after passing 80 years under 20℃. The test results also indicate that the dissipating energy ability of the tubelike viscoelastic dampers reduces rarely after 10000 circles under 7℃, maximum shear displacement 1.65mm and frequency 1.0Hz.The test research show that the tubelike viscoelastic dampers have stable behavior and excellent capacity for energy dissipation,which can be used in engineering structure to reduce the wind vibration responses.At last it is involved on that the tubelike viscoelastic dampers are adopted in steel trusses with long cantilever at Hefei Olympic Sports Center adopting to control wind vibration. The calculating results show that the vertical displacement of the 53.17m cantilever grid roof are obviously reduced after adopting the tubelike viscoelastic dampers.
