With the development of science and technology and the improvement of people's material life conditions, the automobile becomes more and more universalized and also is accepted by the ordinary family gradually. However, the automatic transmission is a very important part of the automobile and has an important influence to economic fuel, driving and emission of it. Along with the popularization of family car, non-professional driver's constantly emerges in large numbers, and the automatic transmission is providing the guarantee for their convenient driving and safety, thus research on the automatic transmission also becomes more and more important.The development of control is the nucleus question in the research and development of automatic transmission. Provide method, datas and algorithms supported from thread simulation and real time simulation are helpful for developing out the real feasible automatic transmission control and are favour of finally realizing the control.On the basis of the National High-Tech Research and Development Program of China and the development of the automatic transmission test-bed, regarding SaiOu AF13-4 automatic transmission as the research model, this paper drew the original response cures using the pallet experimental datas of hydraulic torque converter. And combining the shutting and slippery pattern control characteristic of hydraulic torque converter, the paper also defined the shutting and slippery pattern region of it, and adopted nonlinearity PID's control tactics, and used Matlab / Simulink to build the simulation model, and gave out the simulation result. Using part of load specific property of the engine, original specific property of hydraulic torque converter, the curves related to vehicle drive equation and vehicle oil consumption specific property etc, and considering the shift law of SaiOu AF13-4, laid down the shift law curves of it. The fuzzy control, BP neural network, RBF neural network and Finite State Machine were discussed to realize respectively the shift control of hydraulic automatic transmission. The result coming from the simulation of the Matlab /Simulink indicated: the designed control can realize vehicle's shift correctly.
