Since 80's, the highway construction of our country enters a fast development period.To age of 2010, it's predicted that the totle mileages of our country's highway will achieve 210 or 230 ten thousand kilometers。It will be builded backbone of national higway overall of "five from north to south and seven from west to easf"。 The connect probability of city expressway which population is above 20 ten thousand now。The totle mileages of the speed higway will achiev 5 ten thousand kilometers。In the meanwhile, the prediction of the settlement of higway is asked accuracy more and more, and its results are not contentment any more。Some highways are broken down soon after builded because of the pavement's crack or the staggerion of the bridge resulted from so much settlement of subbed soil。It can not repair the diseases thoroughly even by several times to return to fix, and it is very great waste on the manpower and the material resources。So, it is necessity make a further research to improve the settlement calculation accuracy of highway embankment on soft ground, in order to accurately estimate to the settlement and then taking corresponding measucements by the demand of the engineering project to control the settlement。This has the graveness instruction meaning to the highway construction。On the calculation of settlement, the current norm of our country all chooses layerwise summation method as the model of settlement calcunation of the shallow foundation on nature foundation soils。The layerwise summation method is on the base of flexible theories。It considers the one way(vertical) deformation only, and it doesn't consider the lateral expansion of the subbed soil。At the same time, it doesn't have strict theoretical support on chosing deformation indicator and making sure the thickness of the compression layer。So its results are usually discrepancy much to the actual results。Then the coefficient of the settlement correction is inducted。The computational accuracy by layerwise summation method is depend on the coefficient of the settlement correction to a great extent。But the current norm of our country is...
