With the socio-economy development, our country has strengthened the development of transportation industry, especially has given the positive policy support to the freeway construction. During the short period that is from the beginning of the 1990's to the present, the freeway of our country has developed quickly. Until the end of 2005, the mileage of completed freeway has reached approximately 32000 km and the mileage of constructing freeway is up to approximately 15000 km. However, with the fast development of transportation industry in our country, the traffic volume has grown rapidly in many areas where traffic congestion and traffic accident occur frequently. The demand of highway construction in these areas is becoming more and more intense. But if build a new highway, it will invest much, take long time, take up the land resource and so on. So many areas incline to reconstruction and extension project on the foundation of original freeway.The traffic volume forecast is the prerequisite and foundation of the traffic evaluation and the comprehensive analysis on the necessity and feasibility of construction project, is the main basis of confirming the construction project's technology classification, project scale and economic evaluation, is the key contents of determining project's benefit and is a key part of feasibility research as well. Therefore, if the result of traffic volume forecast is scientifically and rational, we can grasp the trend of the traffic volume, which can provide the reliable basis for the highway network planning, the feasibility research of highway, the highway construction arrangement or order and so on. The Beijing-HongKong-Macou freeway is one of the rays in the national freeway network (7918 network), which from north to south connects Beijing, Shijiazhuang, Zhengzhou, Wuhan, Changsha, Guangzhou, Hong Kong, Macao, etc. 8 key cities.
