Hybrid electric vehicle as the transition product of traditional vehicle to electric vehicle has not only escaped from the technological bottleneck of the electric vehicle but also improved the fuel economy of the vehicle. So hybrid electric vehicle is favored by many vehicle manufactures and research institutions in recent years. The regenerative braking system as a subsystem of the hybrid electric vehicle can restore part of kinetic energy and potential energy during braking. The energy can be used to propel vehicle when the vehicle starts and accelerates. The system need not add the apparatus containing too much hardware. We can say this is a congenital advantage of hybrid electric vehicle. Regenerative braking system makes very considerable contribution to improving the fuel economy.While studying the regenerative braking system of hybrid electric vehicle, the key problem is systematic control problem which is an overall design project. Equipped with the regenerative braking system, hybrid electric vehicle coordinately brakes through regenerative braking and mechanical braking two subsystems, the problem that should be solved at first is the coordination control problems of these two subsystems. To this question, proposed ideal brake control strategy, parallel brake control strategy and optimum brake control strategy were used to assign front and back axel brake force. Subsequently, control strategy models were created in simulation software ADVISOR and imbed in the completed car model. With the three kinds of control strategy, Behavior and performance of hybrid electric vehicle was analyzed during brake on long slope and flat way separately. Influence to the hybrid electric vehicle was also analyzed. In addition, behavior and performance of hybrid electric vehicle with three kinds of control strategy were simulated under urban condition.Compared with the constitution, difficulty, practicality and safety of these three kinds of control strategy, parallel brake control strategy was considered as...
