In recent years, as HEV has been developed significantly, many structural patterns have been emerged out. However, these HEVs are remain based on traditional fuel-consume vehicles, by adding one motor or more to work as accessory aid elements, this makes the whole vehicle more complex and cost more. Now people are seeking for a new type of HEV which has an integrate components of ICE and motor.Continuously variable transmission is the ideal transmission for automobile, it is also one of the most important research items of researchers and automobile companies all over the world. Now, although mental pushing V-belt continuously variable transmission has been applied in lightweight cars, it is not mature completely in theory as well as in practice, and that limits its application.Recently, a new energy converter based on double-rotor machine was pointed out, this equipment can replace the transmission, clutch and starter/generator in the traditional vehicles, it can achieve the CVT mode stably and efficiently, also it can use the motor to regulate the ICE operation point as the HEVs can do. It is an innovational idea to integrate these components as one device, and it has a very broad application prospects.In this paper, on the basis of the control objectives of the automobile, the author analyzed the working patterns of this new type of HEV drive train system, and researched the control strategy on how to control energy matching to make the whole vehicle get the best performance.Next, by applying speed control and torque control of the primary machine and the secondary machine of this new transmission based on RFOC, this paper established mathematical models of the primary and secondary motor, and use the simulation tool of MATLAB/Simulink to analyze the whole system.The author also built a divided structure of the experimental test bench, in this rig the CVT mode and its control method has been verified.
