| High-intensity-discharge (HID) lamp becomes more and more focused on because of its high efficiency, long life and good color rendering. Recently, HID lamp uses traditional inductor ballast as current limiting component. However, inductor ballast can not satisfy the requirement of green lighting, so use electronic ballast instead of inductor ballast becomes an urgency task of green lighting.At present, there are mainly three methods of analysis and design for electronic ballast system: experiment, principle analysis and computer simulation. Among these methods, computer simulation is a very important method because of its low cost, short period and ability to implement some function experiment cannot perform. The precondition for electronic ballast simulation is an exact model of the electronic ballast system, and before modeling the whole system, the model of HID lamp must be set. It is very necessary to build HID lamp model so that one can master the characteristic of HID lamp and make optimal design and stability analysis for electronic ballast. Thus, build a HID lamp model suitable for simulation analysis of electronic ballast system, and then design an effective simulation method for analysis of ballast system based on it is undoubtedly helpful for electronic ballast design. These are mostly meaningful for popularize the green lighting.In this paper, the application of system simulation in power electronic circuit design and its background is described, some basic analysis methods is discussed. And then, HID lamp model is built by using advanced Francis modeling. Half bridge series-parallel connection load resonance inverter is simulated to confirm the accuracy of the HID lamp model. Based on the HID lamp model, much attention is pay to a topology of a single stage power factor correction (PFC)——CIC-CPPFC. The operation principle, unite power factor and parameters designing of CIC-CPPFC electronic ballast are explained in detail. The whole electronic ballast system model is built using state space averaging method. With the HID lamp model, the SIMULINK models of HID lamp and close loop control system for 50W HPS lamp are designed and analyzed. The... |
