More and more researches indicate the indoor microbial contamination has become a serious problem which people have to face and resolve. While air-conditioning systems that closed in connection with people's life have become the forcing houses of microorganisms and have brought the direct or latent health explosures to people. People have taken many kinds of disinfection methods to eliminate indoor microbial contamination at present. Anti-bacterial and disinfectant air filters emerge one after another in the market incessantly. But so far, the evaluation of this kind of air filters is deficient. The test method for bacterial removal efficiency and disinfection efficiencyof sterilization filter media is studied and summarized. The generation, contamination and influence of bio-aerosol particles and the bioaerosol contamination in air-conditioning system were analysised through the related research review. Air filtration method as one of the effective bio-aerosol disinfection was studied and the feasibility of eliminating bio-aerosol by air filters was analyzed in this paper. Two sets of experimental systems were set up to evaluate the filtration and disinfection performance of HEPA filters and filter media. The sterilization effect of far infrared radiation HEPA filter and temperature distribution field are analysised through experimental study on heating HEPA filter by far infrared radiation. After the experimental testing of nomal HEPA filter media and HEPA filter media integrated with Lysozyme, filtration efficiency is obtained through testing filter media. Bacterial removal efficiency is obtained and compared with the one of HEPA filter media. This paper studied the relation of filtration efficiency and bacterial removal efficiency. Sterilization experiment is done in the condition of gas phase condition because of the using of HEPA filter is in air. Scanning electron microscope was used in the experiment to validate the disinfection results qualitatively and quantitivly. A set of evaluation standard and test method for disinfection air filter and media is developed in gas phase condition, which supplies the gist to the evaluation method and standard for testing sterilization filter media in gas phase. The results show that the filtration efficiencies of sterilization filter media is higher than the ones of HEPA filter materials and the sterilization capability of the two sterilization filter materials is better than normal HEPA filter media.
