Air motion and combustion process inside the cylinder, which are determinants of the fuel consumption, low emissions and combustion noise, play an important role on the performance of the diesel engine. Numerical simulation of combustion process in cylinder can provide a lot of information, and it is easy and economical to compare different design schemes.The KIVA program was publicly released in 1895 by the American Los Alamos NATIONAL LABORATOYR, and is used worldwide for numerical calculation of engines'combustion process. In this paper, the multidimensional numerical simulation on the combustion process of 4102 BZLQ diesel engine is based on the modified KIVA-3V program. The interface program between simulation results and professional drawing tool is completed in order to visualize the results in photographs.After learning the structure and usage of KIVA-3V, the author establishes the calculation model of 4102 BZLQ diesel engine with"ω"combustion chamber and vertical valves. The indicated diagram from numerical simulation is very close to the tested one from experiment, so it has been proved that the working model is right. Based on the model, the flow status of the gas in 4102 BZLQ diesel engine's cylinder, the formation of composite gas, the distribution of temperature and pressure and the process of the formation of NOX, Soot and CO have been studied. In this paper, the mechanism of formation and distribution of NOX, Soot and CO in the cylinder is calculated. On the same time, the main factors which influence the formation of NOX, Soot and CO are analyzed, and the following results are obtained:1. The curves of gas pressure, temperature, NOx, Soot and CO in 4102 BZLQ diesel engine's cylinder, which are relative to crank angle, are obtained. And the spray of diesel and the distribution of NO_x, CO under different crank angles are completed.2. The influence laws of different fuel injection advance angles on gas pressure, temperature, NOx, Soot and CO in 4102 BZLQ diesel engine's cylinder are investigated. The curves of pressure and temperature under different fuel injection advance angles are obtained, and the influence laws of different fuel injection advance angles on the formation and distribution of NO_x, Soot and CO are described.3. The influence laws of different engine loads on gas pressure, temperature, NO_x, Soot and CO in 4102 BZLQ diesel engine's cylinder are studied.
