With the development of the national economy, to protect people's life and property the government pays more and more attention to the dike project along the coast. And the stability analysis and optimized design of the sea wall is one of the major problems. Because of the time-dependent properties of soft soil the establishment of an effective evaluation methodology of stability is particularly important, when the sea wall is located on the soft soil. Through investigation, wo knowed that a considerable number of sea walls in the accident were due to the deformation of soft soil.Therefore,their structure and foundation must be taken as a whole when the sea walls of this kind are analyzed. Not only considering the self-weight and various loads influence upon the deformation and stability of the foundation,but also considering the deformation of the foundation influence upon the additional stress and deformation. So the theory of interaction is very important to the stability analysis and optimized design research.Being based upon summarizing research, by means of theoretical analysis and numerical simulation, the failure mode of the sea wall, which is on the soft soil, as well as the deformation characteristics, stress level and the integral stability are researched. The main contents and conclusions presented in this thesis can be summarized as follow:1. Through extensive investigation the geological conditions data of the sea wall along the coast of Guangdong Province is collected, the influence of soft soil foundation on the sea wall structure is analyzed, the present research and development trends is systematically concluded, and pointed out that the sea wall on the soft soil should be optimized from the structure patterns, the building materials, the reinforcement of the soft soil foundation and the construction processes.2. Based on the present research results, the time-dependent properties of soft soil and the principle of the common effects of stress field and seepage field are systematically analysed. The stability numerical anslysis model of the sea wall on soft soil is estabilished. The numerical simulation calculation results of a sea wall in Zhuhai compared with its measured data shows that the methodology and model is validity.3.
