The amount and swirl intensity of air,which enters the cylinder of a diesel engine in the intake process,have great influence on the performance fuel economy and exhaust emission 0f tlle diesel engine.The flow field in the cylinder was affected by the air flow condition in tlle intake port,so the design of intake port is very important.For the purpose of product application,the study based on the steady flow test of intake port experiment,using adVanced computer sofiware CAD/CAM,we completed the development of intake port which satisfied the request of the 4V 1 05 diesel engine.The study consulted a lot of intake port research paper that wriaen by domestic and intemational scholars in the aspects of port study,based on the key structure character of 4V 1 05 diesel engine and the comparision between helical intake port and tangential intake port,decided to adopt the combination of two tangential port to form swirl·Found a three.dimensiOnal intake port model of the 4V 1 05 diesel engine through Pro/E software and make model core through Rapid Prototyping technology.The parget model IS made on the basis of the mOdel core,then,the parget model is tested on the steady flow test bench·This methOd was beneficial to reducing the development cycle and cost of the product·In this papeL some common port—experiment methods and important key point in the arrangement of the test bench were introduced,two parameters of intake port-mean swirl and meall flow coefficient were defined,and their calculative formula were deduced too·Made a comparision experiment study on the steady flow test bench and defined the whole structur character of intake port.In order to realize the distribution condition of press and velocity in the cvlinder f10w field,the method of three-dimensional numerical simulation is used,k~s turbulence model and SIMPLE algorithm are used in the numerical simulation model Achieved the distribution condition of press and velocity in the cylinder flow field and discussed the intervention between two intake ports.The studv achieved the flow performance of two tangential intake port in the 4 valves diesel engine and the impact On the flow field in cylinder,through the methods of stability fluxion of port experiment and CFD numerical simulation.The study provided a reliable basis to the design of diesel engine related structural.Though the method and design process used in this paper was special to the design of 4V 1 05 diesel engine intake port,but they are also could be used in other intake port design process.
